Description:

At Bunnings, you’ll make a positive difference to our business and beyond.
Bunnings is the leading retailer of home improvement and lifestyle products in Australia and New Zealand and a major supplier to project builders, commercial tradespeople and the housing industry. Operating from a network of stores, trade centres, frame and truss sites, and online, Bunnings caters for consumer and commercial customers.
By joining our passionate and diverse team, you will have the opportunity to grow, develop, have fun and make a positive difference – to our customers and the communities where we live and work.
About the role
As the Early Intervention Injury Management Advisor, you will oversee activity of pre-claim and early intervention injury management for our Bunnings team members, including active management of medical certificates, early treatment and clearance within pre-claim windows, where possible.
You will have a focus on genuine care and work directly with our operational site teams to improve understanding and implementation of early intervention injury management processes.
This is a fixed term contract position with an immediate start and continuing until May 2025 located in the Bunnings National Support Office, Burnley.

What’s involved:

  • Be the first point of contact for injured team members and sites post injury, providing guidance across the end-to-end process
  • Conduct initial needs assessments, including ensuring sites have followed procedures and appropriate documentation has been obtained, as well as determining impact of pre-existing conditions
  • Coach and guide operational site teams on benefits of early intervention and recovery at work programs
  • Work collaboratively with Injury Management Advisors to support handover for Workers Compensation Cases
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate reporting of incidents and any relevant injury information

Who we’re looking for:
You will be a compassionate, engaging, and knowledgeable injury management professional with a passion for early intervention. Your skills across understanding the benefits of early intervention will support you to provide well rounded advice and guidance to our leaders across the business on best practice early intervention processes and procedures.
You will be skilled at working with a broad range of stakeholders, with abilities to negotiate and influence positive outcomes for both the team member and the business. You will have a high level of attention to detail and be effective at planning and organising your time to autonomously manage your own workload.

You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience in an operational role within Injury Management, ideally with a focus on early intervention
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workers Compensation, Injury Management legislation and Pre-Claims Procedures, ideally within a self-insured environment
  • Tertiary qualification in allied health, nursing or medical related field
  • Return to Work Coordinators Course
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
