  • Providing a high-quality service to children, and their families by understanding their needs and delivering appropriate interventions/sessions
  • Delivering to groups as well as working with families
  • Achieving the highest standards of safeguarding, whether through supporting the children and their families who come into contact with our service, or by appropriately reporting concerns about any child
  • Working in partnership with other agencies to keep children at the centre of our work.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Experience of disabilities (through family, school, work experience or any other opportunities)
  • Confident using digital systems to record and plan and communicate with others (for example online Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel etc)
  • An effective communicator and listener across multiple age groups and abilities
  • Efficient, expressive and creative
  • Empathy and understanding of children and young people
  • Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
  • Calm and caring nature
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Awareness and understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues for children and young people
  • Health and Safety expectations and basic food hygiene regulations

Responsibilities:

ROLE: EARLY YEARS APPRENTICE - LEVEL 2

Salary: £12,852 per annum
Location: Plymouth
Contract/Hours: Full Time (37 hours), Fixed Term (12-18-month contract)
Interviews: To be held week commencing the 10th of February 2025

A bit about the role
As an Early Years Apprentice amongst other duties, you’ll be responsible for the planning of stimulating, age appropriate group sessions, facilitation of groups and creche work. Communicating with parents/carers, resulting in the appropriate sharing of information and consultation with regards to individual outcomes. Working as part of the team to ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children
About the service
You will work across Green Ark Family Hub & Manor Street Family Hub, two services that are open to the community on a regular basis. We work in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, midwives, nurseries, and local schools.
Family Hubs will bring more services together and expand this offer to support families from pregnancy up to 19, or up to 25 years old for young people with special educational needs or disabilities.
Family Hubs aim to offer early support to families to help them overcome difficulties and build strong relationships. Services include help with infant feeding and perinatal mental health support as well as make it easier to access wider support such as smoking cessation.
