Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

HAVAS Red Sydney is hiring an Account Director to work across some of the agency’s largest accounts. This is an opportunity for someone with a passion for all things culture and travel to join our team to look after some of the biggest brands in the country, and the world!
As part of the Consumer and Brand Team, the Account Director works closely with the Head of Consumer & Brand, Client Services Director and Senior Account Director to deliver the best quality work across a suite of clients, including major travel brands, exciting destinations, well known lifestyle and consumer brands and famous beverage clients.
For this role, you will have your finger on the pulse of the latest travel and lifestyle trends and know what it takes to create a great story. You will be running a talented team to deliver work that makes our clients famous.
You’ll also work across HAVAS Red’s alcohol portfolio, running some of the coolest projects this year – from major sporting events to major music events and festivals.
We need a self-starter, someone who is a can-do operator, can spot a good, earned story, and who has close media contacts.
In addition, you will have the skills and knowledge to demonstrate autonomy, authoritative judgement, adaptability and responsibility as an expert and teacher.
This position reports to the Client Services Director and Senior Account Director which they will work with on a regular basis and requires accountability for personal and team outputs and outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the wow factor for clients

  • In consultation with the senior lead – own client programs, projects and/or events and ensure the quality of work meets clients’ objectives in the most effective manner
  • Own and drive strong relationships with across multiple levels within the client base, ensuring regular visibility with key contacts
  • Know each clients’ objectives, perspectives, issues and requirements
  • Develop sound communications strategies, creative executions, accurate budgets and timelines with input from the team, reviewing their contributions and coaching them to develop their skills
  • Develop project/program KPIs in conjunction with the team, ensure these are being met and manage client expectations
  • Manage workflow by delegating and monitoring works, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving problems and implementing new procedures as required
  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction, driving and motivating team members to provide superior service whilst maintaining agency profitability
  • Develop and grow each client account financially both within the current program and beyond

Bring your Black Book of media and influencer contacts

  • Build HAVAS Red’s relationships with senior media and influential contacts in all relevant fields
  • Have a deep knowledge of Australian lifestyle, politics, news media and social influencers and set the standard for best practise with your team
  • Monitor media for potential client relevant issues and provide analysis and counsel to clients
  • Monitor client media strategies and ensure they are integrated and aligned and delivering against KPIs
  • Ensure team members are communicating and interacting with media contacts on a regular basis and set the standard for earned best practise
  • Take responsibility for high standard of writing, spelling and grammar in all copywriting
  • Provide well-constructed feedback to team members so they can improve their writing skills
  • Write highly newsworthy communications materials

Be an event manager extraordinaire

  • Counsel team members to determine if an event is the best strategic option for the client and help manage client expectations
  • Ensure we run events for clients to high standards, meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Oversee timely presentation of post event reports and content such as photography and videos

Be a culture driver

  • Be a driving force for culture within the agency; share your knowledge of culture (youth culture, subculture, internet culture), trends and audiences to fuel culturally meaningful ideas and insights
  • Help cultivate an inclusive, collaborative and progressive environment to allow creativity to flourish at HAVAS Red
  • Be a force for positive and approachable creativity, contribute creatively to projects, new business and campaign development
  • Bring ideas to the table that will push the creative team, the wider agency and our clients into tomorrow
