Description:

FIXED-TERM FOR NINE MONTHS FROM OCTOBER 2024

An interdisciplinary research team from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures and School of GeoSciences are looking for a postgraduate student to contribute to a project on cultural and environmental adaptations to new seasons.
This project aims to draw together a collaborative network of researchers across the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Science and Engineering and community representatives to explore how sustainability is being impacted by changes in the seasons. During this Earth Fellowship you will review current literature; connect expertise across the emerging network of researchers and community representatives working in areas related to seasons and sustainability; and organize a workshop to be held in the spring/early summer of 2025.

This post will appointed at Grade UE05, step 1 which is £27,979 per annum, pro rata (£ 15.33 per hour).

YOUR SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

  • Current University of Edinburgh postgraduate student.
  • Evidence of interest in climate and environmental change.
  • Ability to carry out literature reviews of academic literature and other documents.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with colleagues and stakeholders with a variety of expertise; understanding and valuing different points of view.
