Eating Disorders Nurse

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide patient centred care of a complex nature in a variety of settings: work with the specialist nurse to provide on-going assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of patient care, ensuring the maintenance ofclinical records. Also, to be responsible for developing plans of action, inconjunction with Specialist Nurse. work with the Specialist Nurse in the management of a case load, workingclosely with the multi-disciplinary team, patient, family and any otheragencies. work at times within the community setting, involving close family memberswhere required, with an aim to promote positive change within the family.
attend and contribute to core groups, review meetings, child protectionmeetings and any other clinical forums requiring key-worker involvement. Toprovide accurate reports for such meetings ensuring patient involvementwhere required. work with patients and families who are potentially hostile. To possessexcellent communication skills in order to defuse and contain situations asthey arise participate in teaching programmes for nursing students and other membersof staff when required always respect the rules of confidentiality as per policy monitor and report areas of concern.
