Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Electrical & Control Instrumentation Maintenance Manager, you will be a hands-on Engineer as well as a leader. You will plan, document and manage the maintenance of all electrical & instrumentation on site, making sure all scheduled maintenance is completed on time and within budget, utilising the site asset management system.

  • A hands-on reactive maintenance Engineer on production instrumentation as and when failures occur, leading the LOTO / electrical isolations on site;
  • Responsible person for HV & LV works undertaken on site.
  • Proactive scheduled maintenance to minimise the reactive maintenance including but not limited to ;

o Ownership of site EC&I standards and their continuous improvement;
o Development of the site SCADA systems and their maintenance, working closely with the site IT department & current Automation Engineers.
o Ownership of Thor compliance to BS EN 61508 & 61511, SIL systems on site and their maintenance;
o Ownership of compliance to DSEAR installation on site and their verification.
o Ownership of all instrumentation calibration and loop checks;
o Legislative compliance,

o Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Production Planner to maximise efficiency of working.

  • Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources required on site;
  • Being part of the project team for all new projects on site;
  • Negotiating/ liaising with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
  • Reporting regularly on progress to the senior managers.
  • Managing maintenance projects from initiation to completion, overseeing and supervising site work.
  • Working with new projects running Electrically biased FEED studies, detailed design and installations;
  • Arranging Invoices & Purchase orders against pre authorised budgets.
  • To work with the Process/Project team to ensure projects are formally closed off on completion.
  • Identify any potential areas of slippage in the programme and suggest a corrective course of action to team members.
  • Escalate problems quickly to the Operations Manager and help to identify and instigate solutions.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to Electrical, control & instrumentation; Health and Safety legislation;
  • Ensure daily communication with the maintenance team and Production Manager.
  • Carry out health and safety inspections with the H&S Manager.
  • Being part of the site COMAH team, as a technical lead.
  • Adhering to all Thor Specialities (UK) Limited policies and procedures
