Te Atatū Peninsula Kindergarten, part of Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA), a vibrant and inclusive learning environment, is seeking a dedicated ECE Kaiako to join our team in a part time role (20-hour Monday-Friday). We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to play-based learning, environmental sustainability, and fostering strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.

- Programme: Our programme is based around free play. Tamariki are encouraged to be creative and active learners and to make their own choices. We have a strong commitment to supporting social development and self-regulation.
AS AN ECE KAIAKO, YOU WILL:
- Inspire Young Minds: Create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for tamariki.
- Foster Relationships: Build strong bonds with tamariki and whānau, creating a sense of belonging.
- Embrace Biculturalism/Multiculturalism: Integrate Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori into daily practices and work with diverse communities.
- Champion Sustainability: Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work as part of a dedicated team to achieve shared goals.
The ideal candidate is a registered and certified early childhood educator with a current first aid certificate. You’ll be passionate about play-based learning and child-centred approaches, with a strong commitment to Te Whāriki and multicultural practices.
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues. Your ability to plan, assess, and document children’s learning is essential, as is your enthusiasm and flexibility as a team player.
