Description:

EDUCATION

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
  • The successful candidate will possess current First Aid/ CPR certification as well as medical/TB test results and a valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check completed within the last 6 months of starting employment.
  • Experience in an inclusive childcare setting as well as proven working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health Regulations and Fire Regulations.
  • Should possess excellent teamwork, problem solving, written/verbal communication and human relation skills, as well as demonstrated skill and knowledge to deal with all aspects of diversity in a post- secondary environment.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Under the direction of the Director, Child Development Centre (CDC), and in accordance with established guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (2014), The Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (2014), Public Health and Fire Regulations, The Early Childhood Education Division, Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness and Humber Polytechnic, the Casual Part Time staff will assist Early Childhood Educators to implement daily routines in the programs for individuals or groups of infant, toddler and/or preschool children; demonstrate the philosophy, techniques, theories, and mission of the CDC and the Early Childhood Education Department; and maintain on-going communication with families, faculty and the community, with respect to the children and the program; and perform other related duties as assigned.
