Description:

An Exciting opportunity’s have arisen for a qualified Echocardiographer or Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist specialised in Echocardiography.
You will be predominantly based on the Aintree Hospital site but will provide services to Broadgreen and Royal Hospitals. Given the nature of the department a flexible working pattern.
Applicants must be BSE accredited, have completed either a BSc in Healthcare Science or PGCert in Echocardiography. Applicants must have RCCP or be working towards RCCP registration [If an ETP candidate]

We are busy and dynamic department providing Cardiology services to Liverpool and the surrounding regions.

  • To provide Echocardiography to inpatients and outpatients
  • To perform Echocardiography independent to BSE dataset guidelines
  • To report and analyse Echo results in line with BSE guidance
  • To successfully line manage staff within your team with the assistance of the department manager
  • To perform advanced techniques such as TOE, Exercise/ Dobutamine Echo, Bubble studies, Contrast studies and more.

The ideal candidate will be joining a dedicated band of Clinical Physiologists, Assistant Technical Officers and Associate Practitioners who perform a wide range of cardiac and respiratory investigations.
The department provides a wide range of services and employs over 40 members of staff.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

1) Performs echocardiograms autonomously on outpatient and inpatients to a high standard.
2) Reports complex clinical data obtained by echocardiography in a timely manner and produces an accurate report to BSE standards.
3) Practises the standards as outlined by the British society of echocardiography in both image acquisition and reporting
4) Highlights abnormalities to the referring medic/ clinical team.
5) Organise work at the start of every session by assessing mode of patient transport and any infection control precautions
6) Act to the level of professional standards as outlined by the RCCP
7) Aims to complete RCCP accreditation as soon as possible.
8) In order to obtain RCCP accreditation is willing to undertake training in other areas of clinical physiology as required.
9) Becomes compliant in advanced echocardiographic techniques including TOE, Bubble, Contrast and stress echocardiography
10) Is ILS trained
11) Liaise with Lead Clinical Physiologist to maintain appropriate level of resources.
12) Responsible for the safe use of all the equipment within the department and specific areas.
13) Recognise equipment faults and ensure details are documented and appropriate steps taken for their correction.
14) Responsible for maintaining own Continuing Professional and Personal development.
15) Ensure clean and tidy procedure environments are maintained.
16) Ensure up to date information bases for patient and other activities are maintained.
17) Self-motivation to ensure completion of individual and overall workloads.
18) Contribute to meetings with other staff relating to changes within the working area.
19) Assist with maintenance of local risk management policies.
20) Understands and uses Cardiac/Respiratory Information systems and their application within Cardiac/Respiratory Physiology.
21) Engage in audit, research and development relevant to the Cardio respiratory Department.
22) Comply with Trust and local policies.
23) To be responsible for the care of patient when performing examination.
24) The post-holder will liaise with physiology, medical, technical, nursing, portering, domestic, clerical, administrative and other staff as necessary within this Trust.
25) The post involves direct contact with patients, relatives, and carers.
26) Communication with manufacturers is also necessary.
27) A responsible, professional/relationship must be maintained at all time
