They will also conduct analyses and helps ensure that results are properly interpreted.
The Ecological Statistician regularly writes methods and data analysis sections of manuscripts and reports, and may occasionally present results or assist with continuing education activities (e.g., workshops or short courses). In addition to supporting DUC scientists in their research, the Ecological Statistician may conduct original independent research on statistical methodology relevant to IWWR’s mandate and will keep up to date through professional development activities, ensuring that advances in statistical theory and methodologies are incorporated into analyses where appropriate.
This position will require excellent relationship-building and communication skills, and a collaborative attitude. The ideal candidate will derive satisfaction from both the technical aspects of this role, but also from teaching and helping colleagues and using their skills to elevate the performance of the science team and DUC.
As a member of DUC’s science team you will benefit from an established network of collaborations with government agencies, academics, and industry partners.
