Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Economic Analysis Manager who will lead a team to deliver on a range of electricity system techno-economic analysis. In this role you will also be responsible for building effective relationships and partnerships with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure Ireland is to the forefront in the integration of future technologies to assist in achieving zero carbon by 2050 and to provide insights into how we can achieve our 2030 targets.
The role will see you:
- Lead and support a team to identify and deliver on a range of robust, comprehensive and clearly communicated electricity system techno-economic analysis by providing direction for the team, allocating resources to meet priorities and managing issues as they arise.
- Balance the availability of the required skills and competencies within and across the team.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure high level outcomes from the Enduring Connection Policy studies and Imperfections techno-economic analysis is communicated and aligns with our broader strategic objectives.
- Lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, quality, risk and activity monitoring.
- Act as a “thought leader” for the group, providing subject matter expert techno-economic / electricity market advice and guidance to team and wider company.
- Present externally at key forums and engaging experts across the sector.
About You
- An engineering degree with at least 8 years relevant experience with demonstrated technical proficiency.
- Industry expertise and knowledge of electricity system techno-economic analysis using software such as Plexos.
- Strong awareness of the energy and climate policies at National, European and Global level.
- Experience in managing large datasets, applying appropriate quality control measures.
- Proven ability to lead a team, coach and provide direction to junior members.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational skills and strong track record of delivery.
- Strong analysis, judgement and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm and capable of delivering in context of changing parameters/requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to successfully guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
- Capable of making decisions impacting the function within the objectives and strategy guidelines of the organisation.
- Advanced analytical, computer and problem-solving abilities.
