ABOUT US

The Office of the President and Provost (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) has been established to strategically advance equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at UCL. The team draws from diverse expertise to provide expert advice, engagement and support for faculties and departments to advance initiatives and good practice at UCL. The structure and purpose of the team is to embed EDI initiatives into core business and mainstream the values on which UCL was founded.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this job you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to implement UCL’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy and plans, to manage key projects and activity, to engage and inform colleagues about EDI, and to give expert advice to staff on EDI issues. Some of the things you’ll be doing include:

  • Working collaboratively with individuals, groups, and departments / divisions / faculties across UCL giving strategic advice and practical support on EDI initiatives
  • Developing and project managing EDI initiatives and interventions, including large-scale institutional programmes across multiple UCL departments and divisions, and (on occasion) external institutions
  • Undertaking desktop research and preparing reports, briefing papers etc for the development of EDI policies, initiatives, web content and good practice materials and resources
  • Preparing and analysing accurate quantitative and qualitative statistical information for evidence-based interventions, monitoring and presentations (including to senior staff such as the Pro Provost Equity & Inclusion)
  • Writing and presenting committee papers, including for senior decision-making committees such as the UCL EDI Committee
  • Reviewing EDI literature to keep abreast of new developments, legislative change and good practice
  • Developing and delivering EDI presentations, training and workshops to staff (at all levels) and students
  • Line managing Grade 7 EDI Officer posts as and when required
