About the Position
We are looking for an eDiscovery Project Manager to join the Litigation practice area in our Toronto office. The successful candidate will advise clients and legal teams on eDiscovery strategies, prepare project estimates and budgets under legal direction and oversee case teams to ensure collaborative eDiscovery efforts. This position will manage legal hold notices, custodian interviews and collection plans, coordinating between the legal team and eDiscovery Analysts. Strong qualifications include a related degree or industry experience, expertise with litigation support and eDiscovery software like Relativity and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise clients and legal teams on eDiscovery strategies
  • Prepare project plans, estimates and budgets under legal direction
  • Oversee case teams to ensure collaborative eDiscovery efforts
  • Manage the end-to-end process of collecting, processing and reviewing data from various sources
  • Manage legal hold notices, custodian interviews and collection plans
  • Coordinate between the legal team and eDiscovery Analysts
  • Utilize litigation support and eDiscovery software (e.g., Relativity)
  • Review and respond to correspondence, including internal teams, clients and vendors

Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree or relevant experience in a legal environment
  • PMP certification would be considered an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of legal procedures and statutes
  • Strong working knowledge of legal software, standard software and litigation software, including Relativity and Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery best practices, procedures and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well independently while overseeing teams
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels
  • Flexible to work outside regular working hours when necessary
