About the Role
In this role, you will be working to establish processes for content conversion, publishing, and maintenance. Alongside, you’ll be implementing improvements to editorial and reporting functionality and processes. You will also assist with the editorial implementation of large-scale content projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing impact of new legislation/rules on existing statutory/rule content and effectively communicate all primary law changes and additions.
  • Reviewing and ensuring proper editorial workup of new legislation; resolve outstanding issues; and review section notes written by editors.
  • Acquiring a firm understanding of editorial processes, jurisdictional style guidelines and employ best practices.
  • Communicating legal and editorial knowledge effectively to internal and external customers.
  • Addressing customer concerns and questions regarding our primary law content and conduct while participating in content quality review and audit.
  • Assisting with customer feedback follow-up as needed and requested by the Practical Guidance content team.
  • Meeting and exceeding production standards by setting priorities and adhering to critical deadlines and production schedules. Regularly communicate product details/timelines, etc., to editorial coordinator(s), management and other departments as directed.
  • Participating in professional development and training regularly.

Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal degree and be an admitted Attorney.
  • Have at least one to two years of editorial experience.
  • Have exceptional analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, a positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
  • Have organizational skills with an impeccable ability to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Be able to quickly learn and become proficient in technical skills including XML mark-up language and MS Office suite.
  • Be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
  • Be able to prioritize and multitask to meet critical deadlines.
  • Fostering real-time collaboration with colleagues and external authors in Canada, this position will work a shift of approximately 11AM – 7PM Central African Time, Monday - Friday
