Description:

Professor Luigi De Luca has been appointed as the new co-Editor in-Chief of the leading international journal in the domain of innovation management: the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM).
The JPIM Editorial Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive professional administrative support to the Journal’s co-Editors in Chief; Professor De Luca (Cardiff Business School), Professors Gerda Gemser (University of Melbourne), Minu Kumar (San Francisco State University) and Ruby Lee (Florida State University). The postholder will provide an administrative service to ensure the timely processing of submissions to the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM).
We are looking to appoint an experienced administrator with excellent attention to detail and first-rate customer service skills who will be an enthusiastic, reliable and professional individual to support the Journal’s editorial team.

Responsibilities:

Key Duties

  • Provide professional support and detailed advice and guidance to the JPIM editorial team to ensure that all journal submissions are processed effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage all aspects of the incoming manuscripts process by:
  • assigning checked manuscripts to the Editor’s in Chief
  • rejecting papers on behalf of the Editor’s in Chief
  • reporting manuscripts and reviews via the journal’s online system
  • highlighting action items in the system to the Editor’s in Chief and chasing any overdue actions i.e. has an Associate Editor been allocated, have Reviewers been contacted, have reviews been submitted on time, has a decision on the manuscript been made etc.
  • Handling editor, author and reviewer requests related to submitted manuscripts.
  • Ensuring the accurate recording of information on the journal’s online system.
  • Arranging Editorial Board meetings and attending and writing minutes where required.
  • Communicating with Associate Editors, editorial review board members and reviewers for special events (e.g., Editorial Review Board meetings, Paper Development Worskshops, etc.) and other aspects of JPIM through the ScholarOne system.
  • Managing travel bookings and expense reimbursements from the publisher/association (Wiley/Product Development and Management Association (PDMA)).
  • Managing incoming requests for editorial speaker engagements.
  • Organising all aspects of paper development workshops (PDWs) including room and travel organisation and attendee processing (registration, privacy policy documents, manuscript collection, etc.),
  • Collating Editor in Chief activities to support the production of bi-annual report to Wiley / PDMA
