Description:

InnovateEDU is seeking a full-time Project Manager to manage and lead the EDSAFE AI Alliance, support the project’s fellowships, and develop policy, including local school district-level labs. This position has supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Education
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Ethics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in technology, education technology, or science and education policy.
  • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, or related technologies.
  • Experience in education environments is highly desirable;
  • Skills
  • Strong organizational skills & project management skills.
  • Strong public speaking skills, adept at speaking to funders, corporate leaders, policymakers and the press;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Asana.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive approach with a strong sense of initiative and creativity.
  • Knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of AI and its ethical implications.
  • Familiarity with the current landscape of AI policy and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Lead the Coalition:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the strategic plan for the EDSAFE AI Coalition.
  • Lead the strategy and stakeholder engagement for EDSAFE, including leading the Steering Committee, working groups, and facilitating collaboration amongst partners;
  • Coordinate and direct all coalition activities, ensuring objectives are met and align with our mission.
  • Manage fellowships focused on building capacity and community in AI and education.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with various stakeholders, including AI developers, policymakers, educators, and civil society, to foster dialogue and collaboration.
  • Represent the coalition at conferences, workshops, and other public forums.

Program and Team Management:

  • Oversee the development and execution of projects and programs within the coalition.
  • Coordinate a national network of school district-level labs to develop policies and practices aligned to the safe and ethical use of AI in education.
  • Ensure all programs are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Lead and manage a small staff team, promoting a positive, inclusive, collaborative work environment.

Research and Development:

  • Develop and edit content and publications relative to the work
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI and AI ethics.
  • Encourage and oversee research initiatives within the coalition.

Moves boxes/equipment up to 50 pounds.
