Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance. Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job‑related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. Attire is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment. Wears proper identification while on duty. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times, as observed by peers and management. Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standard for attendance. Attends a minimum of two staff meetings, reads minutes for all staff meetings, and participates in committees as required. Demonstrates the ability to get along well with people and to work well under pressure. Must be self‑directed and able to work independently.

EDUCATION/CERTFICIATION

High School Degree or GED equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. CPR Instructor certification required or must obtain CPR instructor certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This incumbent performs administrative duties for the Manager of Professional Development & Education. This performs a variety of clerical duties. These duties require a thorough understanding of the organizational structure of the Hospital and the department. The incumbent will perform diverse responsibilities related to the preparation and maintenance of professional development documents; class management, answering telephones; and communicating with hospital staff, customers, and community members. The incumbent will perform office functions that include typing, copying, distributing, filing, and maintaining appropriate levels of office supplies. The incumbent will support department educators in competency-related activities. This position must possess excellent organizational and computer skills to provide the necessary support to ensure effective and efficient operation of said departments. In addition, this position must possess superior communication skills to professionally assist, hospital employees, community members, and medical staff.
