We are looking for an outstanding practitioner to play an active role in driving school inclusion. As Education Officer you will:
Engage with families who are indicating that they are wishing to move schools outside of the main rounds of entry.
Form meaningful relationships with young people to discuss their situation, feelings and aspirations and define away forward for them with regard to their future education.
Work with all schools to identify a student maintenance plan so that the parents and the young person stay in their chosen education establishment.
Support with the transition information sharing process in the event that an in-year transfer is deemed appropriate.
The successful post holder will have experience of supporting children in educational settings and be able to demonstrate the impact of their work on improved educational outcomes. They will have high aspirations and passion for improving life chances of children. They will have an understanding of a wide range of barriers children may face in accessing their education and be able to support and challenge schools, children and their families in overcoming these barriers in order to reduce in-year transfers.
