JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certification

  • Minimum certificate or Diploma in Tourism/Hospitality/Arts Management/Art Education preferred or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in hospitality and tourism, education or arts and culture industry.

Other Prerequisites

  • Keen to work in the museum, arts and culture industry, with a passion for learning and communicating the arts and sciences.
  • Motivated and high energy, able to appreciate a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to use good judgment and discretion and maintain calm demeanor in high volume or stressful situations.
  • Enjoy working with children and people of all ages.
  • Well-groomed and professional disposition.
  • Excellent guest relations and communication skills.
  • Experience of presenting information to individuals or groups in a public/educational context.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the museum with daily operations including welcoming school and corporate groups and public visitors.
  • Perform shift responsibilities, including weekends and public holidays and is accountable to the line manager for the smooth running of the day-to-day shift operations.
  • Assist to brainstorm, develop, conceptualise, implement and execute exhibition-based educational materials such as relatable content, signature workshops, masterclasses and online tours and workshops for both public and school groups.
  • Support regular education and community initiatives such as engagement with special needs community, regular educators’ engagement, volunteer events and wellness events etc
  • Work closely with the Programmes Team on delivering educational offers such as tours, workshops, online programmes and events to schools and the general public.
  • Engage with the Museum’s visitors in a positive and professional manner, inspire and inform visitors of exhibitions and galleries within the Museum.
  • Provide excellent customer service to school groups and public visitors at all times.
  • Project a professional impression of the Museum at all times both verbally and in appearance.
  • Be fully knowledgeable on all Standard Operating Procedures & all exhibitions relevant to the Museum.
  • Liaise with line manager on daily and weekly roster patterns. (Weekends & Public Holidays will be included)
  • Gathering, compiling, analysing feedback on educational offers and making necessary adaptations to constantly improve the museum’s offers.
  • Assist our Group Booking department in any related sales enquiries and recces for school and corporate groups if required
  • Take stock of all inventory needed to run and execute our educational programmes.
  • Take on any other duties within the Museum, as the business requires.
