EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT (TERM PART-TIME)

Life Sciences, Dental Assisting Program
POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated February 17, 2025 up to May 2, 2025)
SALARY: $27.36 - $38.5 hourly
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate in Dental Assisting
  • Currently registered with the Manitoba Dental Association
  • Experience working as a registered Dental Assistant
  • Experience with various laboratory equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Understand the learning needs associated with a variety of learning styles and abilities
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve to assist students as they work through assignments and course material
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience working with dental software, e.g., Maxident and Dentrix

Responsibilities:

The Educational Assistant in the Life Sciences Department (Dental Assisting Program) will be responsible for providing support to the Instructor in the delivery of program content in a laboratory and a clinical setting, with primary duties in the disciplines of dental dam, instrument processing, impressions, clinical patient booking and billing in the reception area. The Educational Assistant is responsible for: preparing laboratory and clinical demonstrations for classes; maintaining laboratory equipment; ensuring the cleanliness of the laboratory and clinic, and assisting with inventory and ordering of supplies.
