Description:

We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an EHS Associate based in Medina, NY. This role is crucial to the development, implementation, and administration of environmental health safety (EHS) programs. As an EHS Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring site compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental programs or Health and Safety regulations. Furthermore, your technical support will be instrumental to the leadership, quality engineering, facilities maintenance, and manufacturing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the EHSS Management System including ISO 14001 45001 as required
  • Collaborate in the administration and implementation of EHS policies and programs
  • Conduct program reviews, including periodic revisions and updates to standard operating procedures
  • Undertake tasks related to environmental and sustainability programs such as Air Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste management, Risk Management, Recycling, Emergency Response, Spill Prevention, Stormwater Control, Wastewater etc.
  • Report relevant data for monthly metrics and incidents into the Information Management System Benchmark
  • Ensure compliance with existing EHSS regulations and follow emerging EHSS regulations and issues
  • Maintain solid and hazardous waste programs
  • Identify potential EHS hazards through risk assessments, inspections etc., and drive timely corrective actions
  • Provide regulatory guidance and administration support on all EHS regulations
  • Perform EHSS change assessments for new equipment, processes or changes to the operation
  • Participate in Industrial Hygiene monitoring
  • Impart specialized training to employees
  • Perform investigation, root cause analysis and complete corrective action plans for safety and environmental incidents
  • Prepare and/or assist with composing agency, corporate and divisional reports
  • Participate in site Emergency Response Teams for hazardous materials spills and medical response
  • Be an active participant in the Safety Committee
  • Accomplish EHS results by communicating job expectations, initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
  • Assist with workers’ compensation program including claims monitoring and administration, report generation and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical staff for litigated/non-litigated claims.
  • Proven experience in Customer Service
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Familiarity with Reporting procedures and systems
  • Experience in Training staff on safety procedures
  • Knowledge of EHS Procedures and their implementation
  • Ability to provide Technical Support in EHS related issues
  • Understanding of Policy formulation in accordance with EHS regulations
  • Strong Compliance management skills
  • Proficiency in Planning Processes relevant to EHS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold Quality standards
  • Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Familiarity with ‘About Time’ software
  • Understanding of Medical Coverage policies in the context of EHS
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Ability to Troubleshoot EHS related issues
  • Experience in handling EHS related Correspondence
  • Knowledge of Claim Administration in an EHS context
  • Understanding of EHS Regulation and its enforcement
  • Experience with Facility management in accordance with EHS standards
  • Proven track record in the Implementation of EHS procedures
  • Background in Engineering is preferred
  • Strong Data Analysis skills
  • Experience with Monitoring Tools relevant to EHS
