Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

Acting in the as EHS coordinator oversight in third party maintenance activities across site. Provide consistent and professional support and guidance to Facility Manager and their operational teams in order that they meet their QHSE objectives and targets and work closely with their Mitie Colleagues to ensure that the standards of QHSE management expected by Mitie and our clients are achieved across all operations.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Safety and/or environmental bias in previous roles.
  • NEBOSH Certificate essential or equivalent level 3 qualification.
  • Kelvin Top-Set investigation
  • ISO 45001 Internal Auditor
  • Strong technical/ engineering understanding in a manufacturing/ pharmaceutical environment
  • Able to demonstrate continuing professional
  • Evidence of practical audit/inspection
  • Experience in delivery of QHSE
  • Broad experience and expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Experience of Integrated Facilities Management sector, in particular Hard or Soft Services where applicable

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES

  • Engagement across the team from the management to the shop floor to embed health and safety best practice.
  • Leading on programmes of work and new initiatives across health and
  • Managing a regular audit and reporting program and communicating performance across the
  • Act as a key Health & Safety point of contact for the Mitie on site team.
  • Managing and delivering appropriate training programmes, methods of delivery and evaluation of effectiveness to ensure employees are competent regarding their HSE duties, including toolbox talks.
  • Developing appropriate arrangements to ensure that risks from contractors and third-party suppliers are managed and effectively controlled.
  • Proactively driving the Health & Safety agenda within the team, from near miss reporting, engagement of site safety champions and H&S Gembas.
  • Monitoring changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuing legal compliance and best practice.
  • Undertaking investigations of site incidents and accidents that addresses circumstances, cause and consider improvements that could be made for the future.
  • Build a strong working relationship with the central Mitie HSE team and actively engage with them on high-risk
  • Regular Gemba’s of the site to ensure we are delivering a safe and working
  • Manage and maintain the COSHH register
  • Carry out assessments that are outside the competence of operational managers e., Significant Risk, COSHH, DSE and other assessments.
  • Ensure all relevant site files are in place and up to date for all service lines
  • Manage and maintain the Noise and Vibration registers for all equipment
  • Manage and maintain the ladder registers for all equipment
  • Periodically monitor sub-contractor safe systems of work
  • Performance audits on permits and ensure Issuers and Receivers are following the correct
  • Monitor all Ll audit actions and work with the audit owners to ensure they are completed
  • Monitor and progress Non Injury Events (NIE’s) with the action owners to ensure they are completed
  • Be trained to complete face fit testing

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always follow Group and company policies and
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
