Based at our Cardiff site, as an EHS Engineer, you will join an experienced EHS team providing a ‘hands-on’ service to all departments across the site – making a difference by keeping our employees & site safe and compliant with a focus on a best practice
approach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical advice on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) issues, helping to ensure compliance on site safety matters.
- Ensure that project works comply with CDM requirements where applicable.
- Machine safety and PUWER oversight ensuring compliance to regulations.
- GE EHS Management system element ownership and support – Key knowledge and support for EHS Framework functions.
- Conduct regular compliance inspections and track findings through to closure, providing feedback to employees.
- Provide direct internal support and leadership of EHS to your assigned business operation(s).
- Develop and conduct training on EHS awareness.
- Management of safety risk assessment programme and development of PPE matrices.
- Ensuring compliance to Fire, Legionella and asbestos risk assessments.
- Undertake accident investigations, ensuring cases are logged and corrective actions are managed.
- Responsible for radiation programme, point of contact with Radiation Protection Advisor.
- Liaison with Industrial Hygienist, ensuring compliance to workplan and assessments.
- Implementation of core requirements specific to the hand arm vibration programme, ensuring monitoring and training is provided.
- Management of compliance calendar tasks, ensuring Regulatory tasks are assigned and completed in line with Global priorities and goals.
- Contactor control oversight, signing of risk assessments and method statements. Ensuring contractor activities are reviewed and compliant.
- Deputise for EHS leader when required.
- Support business on a rotational on call basis and ensuring cover out of normal operating hours.
