EDUCATION:

A master’s degree in Environment Health and Safety.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years’ experience in industrial environment.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing (Lean, 6sigma, Kaizen etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Language: Fluency in English and French is a must, German would be considered as an asset.
  • Strong EHS technical knowledge on one of the following: Machine safety, Chemical Management, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics.
  • Strong communication, capability to explain and teach complex concepts.
  • Ability to influence others.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Innovation Prototyping Lab (IPL) is a unique prototyping facility part of Goodyear Global Operation and Technology organization. The purpose of the facility is to partner with all global functions of product development, technology development and manufacturing plant operation by providing tire prototypes, tire samples, tire inspections and by developing advanced tires manufacturing technology.
The EHS Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our laboratory operations, supporting research and development activities in tire technology. They will provide leadership, influence, coaching, advice, and technical expertise at every level of the organization in the management of all EHS activities. This includes the primary duties and responsibilities listed below.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all laboratory activities comply with all local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Coach and influence leadership to implement Global EHS strategy onsite, adapting site specificities (equipment, culture, risks etc.) by proposing annual action plan, KPI.
  • Implement, maintain, and audit all EHS programs, ensuring a proper ownership, accountability, and sustainability for each of them.
  • Partner with operations to keep professional and environmental risks under an acceptable level through risk assessment, equipment upgrade project, training, organizational change etc. (Act as Travailleur Designe for Luxembourg sites).
  • Investigate all incidents (accidents, near misses, …) with appropriate stakeholders, coordinate countermeasures and implement preventive measures from other sites lessons learnt.
  • Follow up applicable regulation, inform all stakeholders accordingly and team with them to propose action plan to ensure compliance of operations and infrastructure.
