REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in occupational safety or possess or be willing to work on earning COSS Certification (within 1st year of employment).
  • Experience: 5+ years related experience in safety.
  • Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; familiarity with OSHA General Industry regulations; aware of industry-specific hazards, hazard controls, safety protocols; be able to train in safety awareness; shop equipment maintenance; building maintenance.

Responsibilities:

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & FUNCTIONAL ROLE

The EHS and Maintenance Coordinator reports directly to the Business Process Implementor. The EHS and Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that employees perform work safely and ensuring that equipment, machinery, multiple facilities, and company-owned vehicles are maintained in proper and safe working condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor operations to assess hazards and identify potential risks.
  • Enforce safety and security standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Sustain and maintain safety programs and manual.
  • Promote a safe and secure workplace through education activities for workers.
  • Sustain and maintain preventive maintenance program for all facilities, equipment, machinery, and vehicles.

DUTIES:

  • Conduct safety and security inspections at regular intervals and document findings; act on deficiencies.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training events for workers in high-risk work areas.
  • Conduct safety and security orientation events for new employees.
  • Perform safety inspections of all work areas at regular intervals.
  • Lead investigations on safety incidences; work through RCA to develop appropriate controls.
  • Perform PM inspections at regular intervals.
  • Coordinate service and repairs when needed for facilities, equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Maintain OSHA and Safety Data Sheet records.
  • Review and enhance knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and manicured fashion.
  • Maintain inventory of general facilities supplies.
  • Stock common areas with supplies.
  • Maintain high level of communication with workers on safety and security events and changes to policies/rules.
  • Monitor use and maintain stock of 1st Aid supplies and medicines.
  • Respond to all facility emergencies and incidences with a sense of urgency.
