REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work successfully in a matrix-based organisation with the ability to deliver change and improvement across the site community where you have no direct line management responsibility
  • Coaching mindset, experience in coaching and influencing others
  • Solid understanding of current legislation and regulations within HSE
  • Proven experience in health and safety management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in organisation that work to lean principles and operating systems
  • Good experience in the use of computer systems for reporting and processing daily work
  • Good skills in the Norwegian language, spoken and written - must also master English

Responsibilities:

  • Environment, Health and Safety LeaderThe Oslo Plant Manager is recruiting for the leader of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) who will lead, manage and implement the environment, health and safety program for the Oslo site and associated operations. The site has multiple locations and works across Research and Development, Manufacturing and Logistics.The EHS requirements are in line with the Norwegian legislation and the GE HealthCare corporate requirements. The person is responsible for leading the strategy build, subsequent implementation and assurance of safety, sustainability and wellbeing and will champion EHS and be an ambassador for good practice.The candidate will report into the Plant Manager of the site and will perform the job together with a team of other HMS professionals.MAIN TASKS(Tasks and responsibilities will always be adapted somewhat, depending on the competence and experience of the position holder):
  • Strategy: Define an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Strategy and action plan to reduce risk based both short term and long term
  • Training and Education: Organize and facilitate the EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and Implement EHS Policies: Create, review, and implement health and safety policies in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices. Ensure these policies are communicated effectively to all personnel
  • EHS Collaboration and Communication: This is a site leadership team role, and you will work closely in leading, influencing and coaching fellow leaders, management and supervisors and across different departments on site and in the Oslo area, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • EHS Site Inspections and Risk Assessments: Regularly conduct thorough site inspections to identify potential hazards and assure of delivery of processes and requirements. Perform risk assessments and collaborate with departments to address and mitigate risks promptly
  • There is significant focus in ‘hard hat’ safety programs across a series of Life Saving Principles (LSP) e.g. lifting, working at heights, LOTO program, risk management, electrical safety, contractor management in drift etc.
  • Continuous improvement: Constantly assessing opportunities for EHS improvements and sharing best practice across the organisation
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into EHS accidents, incidents, or near-misses. Document findings, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive measures
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a safety-oriented culture among workers and contractors
  • Encourage reporting of EHS concerns and implement initiatives to continuously improve safety standards
  • Networking: Lead and/or participate in internal and/or external leadership and EHS technical workshops and relevant professional networks across diverse groups
  • Global Role: Working with Central EHS colleagues to deliver the GE Healthcare EHS management system requirements
  • Documentation: Preparing and maintaining EHS related registers, KPIs, protocols, and other required documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Norweigan legal and regulatory requirements in EHS.
