Description:
Our client is seeking a dynamic EHS Specialist to join there Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) team to drive commitment to environmental, health and safety excellence. This pivotal role ensures compliance and promotes a culture of safety across our client’s operations and life science client operations in Dublin.
The EHS Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including our Technical Hard Services Team and our contractors, our Soft Service Team, our life science client facilities team and client EHS team to implement impactful EHS programs.

As the champion for EHS initiatives, the Specialist will support the IFM team, the large range of contractors and the client to achieve a zero-accident culture and carry out work to maintain our exemplary EHS record. KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Regulatory Compliance Expertise: You must possess a comprehensive understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations to ensure compliance across all organisational levels.
- Risk Assessment Management: You will be responsible for conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing effective corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Contractor Management Experience: You will be responsible for ensuring contractor meet client safety requirements.
- EHS Policy Development: Demonstrate proficiency in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct detailed investigations and root cause analyses of incidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence and improve safety practices.
- EHS Training: Deliver comprehensive training on EHS-related topics to employees at all levels, ensuring they are well-informed and compliant with safety standards.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor other EHS professionals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organisation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the client EHS and Facilities team to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with their stringent requirements.
- KPI Alignment: Ensure that all EHS activities are carried out in alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet organisational goals and standards.
- Report Writing: Exhibit strong report writing skills to document findings, compliance status, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Technical Proficiency: Be proficient in Microsoft systems and the use of software tools to manage EHS data and reporting effectively.
- Facilities Management Knowledge: Facilities management experience and knowledge are desirable to support the integration of EHS practices within facility operations.
- Life Science Industry Experience: Experience working in the life science industry is essential to understand the unique EHS challenges and requirements in this sector.
- GMP Environment Knowledge: Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environments is desirable to ensure compliance with industry-specific standards and regulations.

- Reporting: Prepare clear and concise audit reports that highlight findings, non-compliances, and areas for improvement.
- Verification: Ensure that corrective actions are implemented and verified following audit findings.

- EHS Program Development and Improvement: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance our EHS programs, as well as those of our client, to ensure full compliance with Irish regulations and client policy requirements.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis: Conduct comprehensive risk assessment and hazard analyses across various operational areas to identify potential EHS risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Contractor Management: Implement robust contractor management process to ensure compliance with Client requirements.
- Safety Training Leadership: Lead and deliver safety training sessions to the clients employees, and contractors to ensure awareness and adherence to EHS standards.
- Audits and Inspections: Perform regular audits and inspections of our operations and those of our contractors to ensure compliance with EHS legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Contractor Documentation Review: Review contractor documentation to ensure compliance with EHS requirements and standards.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the client to integrate their EHS expectations and requirements into our operational practices.
- EHS Incident Monitoring: Maintain electronic systems to monitor EHS incidents, near misses, and accidents. Conduct thorough investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans as necessary.
