Description:
The Senior Manager for Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) at Amgen oversees the implementation of safety and environmental policies. They ensure the company complies with regulatory requirements, promote a safe working environment, and manage emergency response plans.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under minimal direction, manage all aspects, regarding the development, implementation, and ongoing support of all elements, modules, systems, and training for the Amgen Construction Safety Program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 7-10 years’ experience in construction safety on large capital projects
- Knowledge and understanding of the application of Safety regulations, use, and application of construction and general industry safety technical standards, principles, and techniques.
- Ability to solve problems and provide solutions to a variety of complex safety problems.
- Self-driven with ability to work under minimal direction.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in an EHS discipline
- Experience managing construction safety in the pharmaceutical industry
Responsibilities:
- Manage Capital Projects compliance with all Regional safety regulations and Amgen requirements and ensure documentation of any non-conformances.
- Manage EHS prequalification (and requalification where applicable) of all design and construction contractor companies for capital projects, by confirming that they have adequate training, knowledge, experience and resources to full-fill all their EHS compliance obligations.
- Ensure systems in place to facilitate cooperation with appointed project supervisors and supply all necessary information as needed by them in order to full-fill their H&S obligations.
- Manage the PSCS team contract at ADL.
- Review of contractor project specific safety plans.
- Ensure adequate training on Amgen expectations for Construction Safety Management is provided to all impacted project engineers and managers.
- Facilitate suitable/adequate governance processes for tracking safety performance across all Capital projects (through gathering and interrogation of the right metrics).
- Compile and report safety statistics as required to the Amgen management.
- Identify and implement appropriate technological systems (e.g. AI) for improving the efficient management of safety for capital projects.
- Ensure adequate systems and resources in place to thoroughly review and approve construction activity Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) in a timely and compliant fashion.
- Facilitate safety performance reviews, inspections, and audits as required.
- Participate in incident investigations, where necessary, report the RCA, and the lessons learned.
- Participate as a member of the capital project leadership team to monitor and prioritize safety agenda from safety schedule and project load.
- Travel within Ireland and Europe approximately 25%
