Description:

This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and require regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment.
The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate (FI) – Planning and Settlement of Operations Department (PRO) – Loan Administration and Reflows Division (LAR), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or IT;
  • Basic knowledge of the financial sector;
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools, and in particular advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (practical VBA knowledge is highly desirable) and Power BI; knowledge of programming language (i.e. SQL) would be considered an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of database and query environments, and capacity to analyze and synthesize data;
  • Demonstrate initiative, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and organize own work effectively;
  • Interest in developments in field of artificial intelligence, machine learning technologies and robotics in finance;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French, and a solid understanding of the other. Knowledge of other EU language will be considered as an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Your task will be to assist in enhancement and automation of periodical reports in lending transaction processing units including operational statistics, key performance indicators and dynamic organisational rotation. Emphasis will be put on the presentation of data, so greater uniformity is achieved across all lending back-office Units. The task also includes alignment of the reporting methodology and procedures for such reports. You will also assist the team in creation or update of checklists for existing procedures.
Building on such experience with Department’s work, you will also be invited to identify potential use cases for innovative solutions based on technoglogies as AI or robotics to ensure efficiency, maintainability, and scalability of the lending back-office.
