Description:

The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Transaction Management Department (TM) – Equity and Growth Capital Division (EGC) – Clean Teach, Industry and Digital Unit (CTID) and Life Science and Biotech Unit (LSB), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2025)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • University degree or with ongoing (or completed) Master’s degree studies in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Law preferably supplemented by any relevant training in financial sector analysis
  • Analytical skills; prior experience with accounting/financial analysis would be considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of the EIB mission and activities as well as the operating and political framework in which the Bank operates.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

You would provide assistance to the more senior officers in carrying out monitoring tasks including financial analysis, support with the valuations, internal and external reports and correspondence preparation, communication with clients and maintaining a monitoring database for the team’s equity-related portfolio. More specifically, you will contribute in the following activities by providing support to the client facing officers:

  • In the monitoring activities of their portfolio of operations (following up on delivery of and review of the financial statements received from borrowers, preparation of financial analysis and the related counterparty reviews including review of scoring and KYC update)
  • In the resolution of post signature events (performing analysis of proposals for changes / decisions, which are put forward by borrowers for discussion / decision of the Bank. Such analysis may include:
  • financial review,
  • review of the legal documentation,
  • result in formulation and processing / implementing internally event resolutions.
