Description:

The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C) – Regulation & EIB Group Risk Department (GREG) – EIB Group Internal Modelling Division (IM) – Model Maintenance and Monitoring Unit (MMU), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Final year of studies or University degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Economics or Finance.
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts and credit risk modeling would be considered an asset.
  • Statistical analysis of data (hypothesis testing, (linear) regression analysis, model selection, data mining, graphical presentation of data)
  • Proficiency in Python. Knowledge of R, SAS, SQL or VBA would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent or good knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the senior colleague, you will support and collaborate with other colleagues of the unit and contribute to the following activities:

  • Coding of Python scripts for data collection, manipulation, statistical analysis and automatized report generation
  • Migration of existing R, SAS and VBA scripts to Python
  • Preparation of reports and presentations in the areas of model performance testing and oversight
  • Support of drafting solution designs
  • Documentation of the results, the analyses and the different data collection/cleaning steps such that a third party may replicate the exercise
