The Compensation Processing and Payments branch sits within the Client Benefits Division and is focused on providing a high quality and timely service to eligible veterans and their families to ensure access to a wide range of health and wellbeing services. An opportunity exists for a motivated individual to lead and manage Compensation Processing and Payments staff based in Adelaide.
The Assistant Director supports the Director in implementing the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) business and strategic plan in the region, including oversight and coordination of staff within a busy operational environment, identification and application of quality improvement activities, and represent CPP branch in a wide variety of local, regional and national forums.
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent leadership and people management skills, a strong commitment to quality service delivery and working collaboratively, and the ability to effectively manage relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of a team to ensure relevant activities and outcomes are achieved.
- Provide strategic direction and support staff through mentoring, coaching and performance management.
- Undertake critical analysis of results and causation, to assist with the identification, investigation and prioritisation of business improvement opportunities.
- Develop, implement and review policies, systems or practices within area of responsibility.
- Collaborate nationally with colleagues, stakeholders and clients to contribute to highly quality and timely service delivery in their area of operation.
- Prepare submissions, briefings and reports within area of responsibility.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Branch and provide input into operational, compliance, and general management issues.
- Demonstrate resilience working in a fast paced, service delivery environment.
