OVERVIEW OF THE GROUP AND TEAM

Scheme Management Group (SMG) contributes to Comcare’s purpose to promote and enable safe and healthy work through excellence in scheme design and management. SMG is insight driven and works with scheme participants to achieve sustainable and better practice national schemes.

The Office of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (OCDAO) team is part of SMG and is responsible for ensuring that Comcare takes a mature and sophisticated approach to the management and use of data. To achieve that, the OCDAO works across Comcare to:

  • Improve enterprise data governance.
  • Foster a data driven organisational culture.
  • Deliver better insights through new platforms and capability uplift.
  • Ensure data architecture and data models cater for versatile reporting and analytics needs.
  • Delineate impacts within our data environment to facilitate a better understanding and implementation of effective controls.
  • Create a framework that helps people understand their responsibilities when it comes to data.
  • Embed continuous improvement in process and quality of data captures.
  • Ensure consistency in the description of common data terms.
  • Ensure data is leveraged effectively to solve business problems.
  • Enable data capability gaps to be identified and addressed across Comcare so that Groups can be more self-sufficient in working with data.

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years project/product management experience, ideally in a data and analytics environment.

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The Data and Analytics Project Manager will deliver high priority projects and initiatives within Comcare’s Data and Analytics Strategy.
Initiatives range from delivering actionable insights through uplifted and automated reporting, reducing the organisation’s risk profile, informing injury prevention and improving return to work and health outcomes for injured workers. Projects encompass a range of approaches including data analysis, predictive modelling, business intelligence reporting and profiling.
Managing several (generally up to two) projects at any one time, the Project Manager will co-ordinate cross-functional resources and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, plan and execute initiatives, and deliver tangible business value.
With practical experience successfully managing data projects which deliver measurable business outcomes, the Project Manager plays an instrumental role in enabling data driven decision making and supporting Comcare to enable safe and healthy work across Australia.
The Project Manager will bring practical experience leveraging a flexible project management and change management toolkit to successfully deliver initiatives and contribute to a data-driven culture across Comcare.
Working closely with the Program Manager, the Project Manager will contribute to meaningfully uplift Comcare’s ability to harness data towards better outcomes for injured workers through the implementation of the Strategy.
The ideal candidate has a strong personal drive, curiosity, and a rigorous approach to achieving positive outcomes through data and analytics.
