QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior design role.
• Proven experience in controls, instrumentation, and automation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix and FactoryTalk platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial robotic integration, preferably with ABB.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer to lead and contribute to our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in controls and automation, with a focus on process control, instrumentation, and motion control. This is a senior-level design role, and the successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating, designing, and troubleshooting control systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Mentorship:

• Provide leadership in electrical and control engineering activities.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Control System Design:

• Evaluate existing and future control system architectures.
• Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical for design and documentation purposes.
• Design PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, with expertise in Rockwell ControlLogix and FactoryTalk platforms.
• Experience in industrial robotic integration, preferably with ABB robots.
• Familiarity with FactoryTalk as the preferred PLC platform for SCADA components.

Technical Expertise:

• Electrical system design, including 3-phase power calculations.
• Instrumentation and controls, covering process instrumentation, PLCs, Motion Control, and Drives.
• Advanced PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming.
• Robotics integration (desirable but not mandatory).

System Architecture:

• Electrical power distribution architecture design.
• Automation control system architecture design.
• SCADA and remote access system design.
• Programmable safety system design.

Commissioning and Troubleshooting:

• Lead commissioning activities for electrical and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both new and existing systems on-site and in the field.

Travel and Location:

• Based in Montreal, this position requires a hands-on approach with both eyes and boots on the ground.
• Travel as necessary to support projects and collaborate with the Jacksonville, FL team members.
