Description:
Position Overview:
International is seeking an Electrical Architect Engineer for its BEV vehicles and long term vehicle strategy. An electrical architect engineer is the single point technical expert on their electrical architecture domain and is responsible for the development of the architecture documents such as detailed electrical schematics, supplier and other International engineering teams engagement, coordinate integration of the components into the vehicle, support controls and software teams, verification of feature functionality, development and maintenance of the related architecture diagrams, and responsible for resolving related issues during vehicle level development, validation, and production.
Responsibilities:
- Work with vehicle system and component owners to determine overall electrical architecture for the EV domain.
- Complete detailed design analysis of the electrical architecture to optimize design solution. This includes but is not limited to: Definition of I/O electric requirements to the ECU, Hardware Software Interface Specs, Electric Circuit Analysis
- Create the Electrical functional schematic for the EV domain and work with the wiring team on the design of the harness.
- Develop and cascade electrical interconnection requirements for all control systems in response to battery, powertrain, and other component demands using a requirements management tool.
- Work with suppliers to “inhale” their functionality and develop, implement, and validate comprehensive electrical considering all driving, charging and “edge” use cases on the vehicle.
- Execute validation, system management, FMEA, and diagnostic requirements for the management of electrical architecture in a BEV using electrical bucks.
- Work with controls and software teams on feature implementation, resolving requirement or implementation issues on an electrical buck or related test property.
- Serve as the electrical architecture owner from the eMobility team to other International interfaces and alliance partners to optimize implementation for International-branded vehicles.
- Compare ideal implementation to supply base solutions, develop trade-offs and implement optimized architecture solution.
- Work with calibration and controls team to integration requirements that can modify the behavior of the feature during vehicle developmental activities.
- eV Domain Change control. Controls the required changes to the EV Domain Electrical functional schematic.
- Support the integration of EE Components during the Vehicle Prototype Builds
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 8 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 6 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
- PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
