We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of an Electrical Coordinator. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL, and will be on a 7/on 7/off rotation.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of processing facility operations in the Mining industry including Concentrator/Mine maintenance, power distribution systems, safety, maintenance, equipment, and staff utilization.
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Previous experience using a CMMS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent work ethic, and attendance record.
Able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 on, 7 off.
Education:
Red Seal Journeyperson Industrial Electrician;
- Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma;
- Other combinations of skills and experience related to the electrical field will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes
- Work with the planning & engineering team to assist in producing high-quality work execution schedules
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage distribution equipment and high voltage motors/generators with voltages ranging from 600V-46KV.
- Issue repair reports at the conclusion of critical jobs for proper historical documentation
- Identify engineered resolutions to recurring electrical issues
- Improve plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and improved maintenance procedures
- Lead and participate in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies
- Execute equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and preventive)
- Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Supervise an electrical maintenance team or contractor workforce on a shift rotation including all associated responsibilities as required during the absence of a shift supervisor or during dedicated assignments.
- Provide coverage during times when the Electrical Superintendent is not available/off-site and be a point of contact to assist in directing workflow and the day-to-day operation of the Electrical Department when required
- Perform QA/QC checks on electrical equipment post-maintenance and assist with project / dedicated work scope closure.
- Lead and/or assist in the creation/alteration of corrective and preventative standard work procedures, JHA’s and scopes of work for the Electrical Team.
- Assist the engineering & capital projects team on work identification and the various stages of project planning to ensure a smooth workflow execution.
- Provide trouble-shooting support to improve operational efficiencies and rectify root-cause issues
- Take ownership of Project Execution and act as a lead when required for electrical scopes throughout the Mine and/or Plant.
