We have a unique opportunity for an Industrial Electrical Department Manager to lead and drive our high performing team based in the Dunedin area. The Department Manager is required to have strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of electricians effectively. This role includes but is not limited to: safety leadership, tendering, quality management, environmental management, project management, people management, financial management, plant management & customer liaison.
In addition to the above you will:
- Lead a team of electricians, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and overseeing their work.
- Overseeing pricing of work and preparation of tenders/ quotes/ estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance within industrial facilities.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety among the team.
- Secure forward workload to maintain the department and meet targets
- Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures, customer relationship management on all projects

We’re looking for someone with:
- Registered Electrician with a current practising license.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as an industrial electrician, with significant experience handling Electronic Motor Controls, PLCs, networks, and SCADA systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, and control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including a strong understanding of the integration between the two.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Experience in developing and leading training sessions for electrical & operational staff.
- Experience with advanced automation technologies.
- Must have a good attitude, proactive and a team player
