The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a talented Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer (Lead or Senior Level) to join the Design Engineering Team in Huntsville, AL, on the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missile-defense program.
The Design Engineering team is responsible for designing RADAR seeker upgrades and next generation concepts, as well as supporting production and special test equipment design. Boeing has a multi-year contract to develop, test, and manufacture the PAC-3 RADAR seeker. This program encompasses concurrent design, test and manufacturing as new upgrades to this complex electro-mechanical assembly are incorporated into production. This long-term program is rapidly growing in Huntsville, Alabama, due to design updates and production growth.

Position Responsibilities: (Example bullets listed below but these are up to you)

  • Lead Technical Responsibility, Authority and Accountability for assigned product
  • Support production, sustainment, block upgrades, and future concepts (IRAD)
  • Support Requirement, Function and Interface Definition for electrical components
  • Review and Concur with Design Documents and Changes
  • Provide technical feedback on documents and technical decisions
  • Familiarity with Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
  • Executes Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Highly preferred: Current active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience or coursework working with aircraft, missile, spacecraft, autonomous platform or similar vehicle Guidance Navigation or Control systems
  • Experience or coursework in Modern and Optimal Control Theory
  • Experience or coursework with simulation and / or system/component modeling

Other Relevant Skills

  • Experience leading other engineering teams (e.g. board designers, system engineers, requirement engineers, reliability engineers, test engineers), to ensure designs function safely and reliably
  • Experience with single board computer
  • Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting and failure diagnosis
  • Experience with DDR technology

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Lead: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
