Electrical Design Engineer (Mangere, Auckland)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in Mangere, Auckland.
This role has the responsibility for ensuring all electrical power & control circuit designs, creation of electrical bills of materials (EBOM) and testing of products/projects and other tasks as assigned. They will be assisting the Electrical workshop with wiring (panels and machine), assist controls engineers with PLC/HMI programming when necessary. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and implementation of appropriate standards for the destination geography, meeting project cost budgets and project timelines.

• A degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated results in electrical engineering roles in manufacturing, product design, industrial automation or a similar environment.
• Strong computer literacy particularly in ePlan, software, PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell, Allen Bradley).
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability in following client specifications and proven internal design practices.
• Strong analytical skills to determine alternative pathways for mitigating risk, reducing cost or creating float in project schedules.
• A high level of computer literacy particularly in electrical design packages.
