Description:

FEDERAL SECTOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Halff has an immediate opening for a Licensed Electrical Engineer (P.E.) to work from a hybrid or remote capacity.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas or have the ability through NCEES to be licensed in Texas and other states.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering in Federal Sector-related projects.
  • Experienced in lighting/lighting control, power design, and distribution of normal and emergency power systems.
  • Familiarity with SKM Systems Analysis or ETAP software.
  • High-level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, and organization skills.
  • Design-build experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with USACE and GSA-type clients.
  • Ability to manage federal projects

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and preparing engineered contract documentation for assigned projects, working as an electrical Project Manager to meet deadlines, aiding in or providing engineering decisions, and collaborating with other engineers, architects, and/or owners.
  • Responsible for multiple projects which may consist of performing and scheduling work, materials, manpower, and information to ensure attainment of scope/project performance and construction schedules. Creating electrical project construction documents, plans, specifications, design analyses’ and cost estimates for robust and reliable electrical system designs.
  • Responsible for on-site visits as necessary to collect existing condition information, attend meetings, respond to construction inquiries, and report on-site observations. Construction activities when necessary may include shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI’s, resolving construction difficulties, and coordinating field installations as required for each project to meet deadlines, and quality standards while adhering to ethical and efficient standard procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Help mentor and develop the skills of junior electrical designers and engineers.
