Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mackay Sugar has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our on-site Maintenance and Production Team at Marian Mill. Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting multiple activities throughout the delivery lifecycle. This includes designing safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective solutions, providing timely engineering advice and concessions, identifying root causes of issues across our mills, and managing technical risks and opportunities with internal stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion WHS and environmental objectives, fostering a strong safety and environmental culture.
  • Drive productivity and profitability improvements through leadership and technical support in power distribution and process control.
  • Develop and implement strategic approaches to electrical maintenance and strategy development.
  • Manage capital programs effectively to optimize asset utilization.
  • Preserve, maintain, and update technical assets (drawings, manuals, investigation records, program code, etc.) through robust systems.

Minimum Requirements: To qualify, you must have one of the following:

In addition, both pathways necessitate:

  • Proficiency in Electrical Acts, Codes of Practice, and Standards.
  • Capability in High Voltage Switching and Coordination, or the potential to achieve this.
  • Reasonable exposure to Process Control Systems, including PLCs and DCSs SCADA software, Networking, and Instrumentation.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in engineering application.
