Description:

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Utilize EPLAN to generate electrical schematics, 3D physical layouts, wire routing schemes and production instructions
  • Work with internal and external customers to determine electrical needs for their machinery and design Control Panels that solve those needs
  • Assist shop in solving problems related to designs, assemblies or bills of material
  • Export bills of materials, production export data of completed designs quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure designs are completed timely and in a manner that facilities error free production on the assembly floor

Responsibilities:

  • Experience engineering the electrical and mechanical designs for electrical control panels incorporating Motor Starters, Soft Starts, Variable Frequency Drives, Relays, PLCs and other essential components common to panels for industrial use.
  • Understanding of Feeder and Branch Circuits and power distribution within a panel for 230 thru 600-volt applications with power feeds from 25 to 1,500 amps routinely
  • Knowledge of MSHA electrical requirements
  • Familiar with drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, proper use of reference materials and vendor specifications related to electrical control panels
  • Expert level knowledge of the UL 508A Standard for Industrial Control panels, candidate will need to have or obtain a UL Manufacturers Technical Representative (MTR) certification within 6 months of employment. Maintenance of this certification is essential to the Control Panel Shop operation
  • Familiarity with Control Panels for use in Canada either carrying either CSA or cUL certification
  • Prepare clear, complete and accurate detail drawings from rough or detailed sketching, notes, or project requirement information
  • Review manufacturing issues; correct and document appropriately
  • Build and Maintain parts records, templates, macros, symbols and other digital data that is part of the EPLAN environment
  • Work on cost reduction, process and/or product enhancement projects
  • Support the shop floor with any manufacturing problems that may occur
  • Create Bills of Material for production orders that meet customer specifications
  • Help Facilitate any Warranty issues
  • Work with others to clarify or resolve design requirement questions
  • Comply with all safety rules and procedures
