Description:

Plastic Energy is at the forefront of converting non-recyclable “End-of-Life” plastics waste into high grade oils for making clean recycled plastics. Our company mission is to play a significant role in solving the global plastic problem, and to be world leaders in chemical recycling.
We promote the concept of a Circular Economy of plastics, and we use a patented Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC) technology to convert end-of-life and valueless plastics into a product known as TACOIL, which chemical/petrochemical companies can transform back into food-grade recycled plastics.
Plastic Energy has established offices in London, Seville, and regional offices in Singapore and Malaysia. We currently own two chemical recycling plants in Spain operating at commercial scale, several projects underway in Western Europe, and new developments defined in Southeast Asia.
We are now seeking an Electrical Engineer.
The post holder will be joining at an exciting stage in our company’s development and will play a key and trusted role in our engineering department, contributing to the successful delivery our current and forthcoming projects.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Act in a senior capacity within the Electrical Engineering department.
  • Lead in the development and delivery of electrical engineering specifications and deliverables for our new projects.
  • Perform and review electrical studies (load-flow, arc-flash, short-circuit, coordination, etc).
  • Specify electrical distribution equipment, MV & LV Switchgear, Motor Control Centres, Emergency Diesel Generators, Power factor capacitors, Variable Frequency Drives, Harmonic Filters, Motors, Transformers, UPS etc.
  • Review technical submissions and provide technical resolutions to project, construction, and design issues.
  • Review specifications, Single line diagrams, Control wiring diagrams, control logics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, plot plans, general arrangement drawings, area classification drawings and other relevant project documentation.
  • Review equipment and cable layout, lighting layouts, earthing and lightning protection layouts, cable schedule, bill of quantities equipment layouts, cable containment drawings.
  • Be responsible for electrical activities for a project or multiple projects at a time.
  • Be able to review, comment and approve subcontractor, vendor documents. Identify ways to improve and provide solutions in a cost-effective way without compromising on quality and safety.
  • Represent the company at vendor and subcontractor meetings.
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work.
  • Be able to plan, identify delays well in advance and act such that project don’t fall in schedule and budget.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and vendors to develop, deliver and troubleshoot solutions for the on-going projects.
  • Liaise with project management and discipline engineering teams to deliver new projects.
  • Support commissioning and operations team remotely and on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to management of change and ensure design documentation are kept up to date for both new and existing projects.
