Job Description
CIMA+ has a long history of success in Eastern Canada and is made up of over 3000 employees across the country.

As a Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer you will be able to participate in the design of high-level diagrams, the development of the protection philosophy and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation, hydroelectric power stations and renewable energy projects with numerous clients across Canada. This is a hybrid role that can be based out of one our offices in Alberta (Calgary or Edmonton)
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Electrical engineering
- Registered (or eligible to register as) member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or that of a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada
- More than 4 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is mandatory
- Work experience in the design of electrical systems is an asset
- Experience in detailed P&C design with major and/or local utilities, an asset
- Experience using AutoCAD software is an asset
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Basic knowledge of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Autonomous, resourceful, and enjoys teamwork
The expected salary for this position is from $75,000 to $105,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Design Control and Protection systems with 2D software (AutoCAD)
- Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
- Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplines
- Prepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications provided
- Participate in the development of electrical Command and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-line AC diagrams, protection and DC control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists and quotes for the manufacturing and installation on site of Control and Protection panels
- Participate in the development of AC and DC power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC & DC load calculations, AC & DC distribution diagrams, connection drawings of chargers, batteries, inverter, etc.
- Participate in site surveys (stations and power stations)
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines: equipment, civil, mechanical and building in order to develop design solutions for optimized and advanced substation and power plant systems
- Possibility of carrying out site work sporadically when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)
