Our Edmonton office has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineering EIT in our Energy and Telecommunications Group.

YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS

• Solid computer literacy in MS Office products
• A motivated self-starter who consistently demonstrates professionalism and willingly accepts responsibility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A team player, that shows a positive attitude towards clients, and strives for constant improvement in process and delivery
• Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
• Eager to learn new skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Member in training with APEGA
• Co-op experience will be an asset
• Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
• Knowledge of GIS will be an asset
• Survey experience will be an asset
• Basic knowledge of fibre optic networks will be an asset
• Basic knowledge of power distribution will be an asset
• Basic knowledge of the CSA 22.3, energy codes, and other pertinent codes will be an asset

• Provide assistance for Pole Line Analysis (PLA) pole survey and site audit verification
• Prepare Pole Line Analysis (PLA) documents and arrange for applicable permitting or agreements
• Draft and issue work packages for outside plant fibre optic designs including FTTX, long haul and others
• Under minimal supervision, prepare permit drawings such as Utility Line Assignment (ULA) drawings and arrange for applicable permitting
• Assist with the preparation of proposal documents
• Assist with material take-offs
• Develop a knowledge of industry design standards and applicable codes for the design of telecommunication facilities and infrastructure
• Work in a project team environment and have a strong commitment to project quality, budget constraints and deadlines
• Willing to travel infrequently within Western Canada
