Our office specializes in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Program completion from an accredited institute program in Electrical Technology or Technician or equivalent experience
  • No minimum experience of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or energy environment is required
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Working experience in 3D design software would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge and working experience related to Canadian Safety Code
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Effective problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE:

Your Role as a Designer provides direct support to the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Department. Candidates will perform design and technical calculations, construction details as well as drawings and diagrams related to project requirements. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, review and redraft design drawings alongside the engineering team
  • Perform design and technical calculations, material lists, construction details, drawings and diagrams related to the project requirements alongside the engineering team
  • Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work using computerized drafting tools: AutoCAD or MicroStation Exercise initiative in completing recurring assignments independently and applying judgement in determining which of many methods are applicable
  • Ensure final designs comply with clients and/or company quality standards
  • Develop and prepare standardized drawings and symbols for the company database
  • Design and draft PLC panels, JB drawings, Loop drawings, Control architecture drawings, Building layouts and more
  • Reviewing third-party drawings such as civil, architectural, landscape, and utilities for conflicts and information as required by the project
  • 3D modelling for lighting, panels and cable tray would be an asset
