As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Boiler and Refrigeration Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrical License
  • Computer use (Microsoft Word & Excel) and use of Internet
  • Basic understanding of lean principles, process mapping, 5S methodology, data collection, and visual management

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The following essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing which allows effective communications with others.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation to perform all elements of position.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity, which permits the employee to perform electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work outside and inside; work around machines and equipment with moving parts; work around moving objects and vehicles; work on ladders and/or scaffolding; slippery or uneven walking surfaces and climbing/crouching in tight spaces.
  • Sufficient range of arm movement necessary to operate a personal computer and related equipment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and strength which permits the employee to lift 60 pounds.
  • Sufficient mobility & stamina to spend up to 80% of shift production floor performing essential job functions.

  • Skilled in the use of electrical and maintenance repair equipment/tools
  • Preventative maintenance program administration
  • Experience working within 5S and Lean manufacturing systems preferred

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Order all electrical parts:
  • Evaluate area of need to determine what electrical equipment is necessary for operation.
  • Maintain necessary parts of emergency repairs of high volume equipment.
  • Order electrical equipment and parts for normal operation and emergency repairs
  • Oversee all electrical installs in plant:
  • Directs staff, schedules crew, determines priorities, supervises and inspects work for projects such as:
  • new wiring
  • transformers
  • lights
  • fiber optic lines for computer system
  • new equipment
  • Participates in projects when necessary
  • Oversee all electrical repairs:
  • Directs staff, determines priorities, schedules crews, supervises and inspects work for projects such as:
  • new wiring
  • transformers
  • lights
  • fiber optic lines for computer system
  • new equipment
  • All preventative maintenance on electrical and related equipment
  • Maintain all machine specific PLC programs on equipment
  • Participates in repairs when necessary
  • Communication and contracting with outside sources such as local utility supplier and outside electrical repair shops for:
  • Electronic repairs
  • High line work
  • Transformer repair
  • Infrared testing (annually)
  • Vibration testing (annually)
  • Oil quality sampling transformers (annually)
  • Calibration of in-plant recorders (annually)
  • Any other necessary contracting
  • Keeps maintenance records:
  • Infrared sensing repair/inspection log
  • Panel repair/inspection log
  • Emergency light repair/ inspection log
  • General Electrical repair/ inspection log
  • Bi-monthly Food Safety Inspection (Monthly attendance for Food Safety Committee meetings)
  • Any other necessary maintenance records
  • Yearly Training
  • Administer annual departmental training
  • Develop and maintain Lockout Procedure and Policy plant-wide per the MIOSHA Standards
  • Pop-up training on various issues when necessary
  • Develop an maintain Fire Safety Policy in coordination with the Plant Manager
  • Education
  • Attend code update classes as required by Michigan to keep Electrical License valid
  • Attend MIOSHA training
  • Other duties assigned.
