Description:

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Reliability & Control Engineer to join our Gladstone operations team and Australia’s largest integrated cement plant. The major assets at the site include a 1.7 million tonne per year capacity clinker kiln, a quick lime kiln, two cement mills and significant material handling equipment including stacking, reclaiming, product packaging, road and rail dispatch and bulk ship-loading.
Reporting to the Electrical Services Manager, your focus will be asset management and control systems, as well as supporting the site’s East End mine. You will split your time between improvement initiatives, outage planning, efficiency improvements, and ensuring reliability of the assets on site. You will spend equal time in and out of the office and working closely with the site maintenance and engineering teams to ensure we minimise downtime and maximise utilisation of our manufacturing equipment.

ABOUT US:

An icon of the Australian cement industry, Cement Australia is the nation’s leading supplier of cementitious products and services. Whilst cement is in the name, the business portfolio is diverse, comprising a series of heavy industrial manufacturing operations, coal and limestone mines, bulk distribution transport fleet, rail and shipping interactions and hazardous waste treatment and alternative fuel production (Geocycle).
As an organisation, we offer our employees work-life balance, a close-knit and collaborative team whilst providing you with the tools and opportunity to make your mark. Our vision is to create a safe, healthy, productive and sustainable business and we are looking for like-minded professionals who align with our company values.

Responsibilities:

As our Electrical Reliability & Control Engineer, you will:

  • Be closely involved with all electrical and automation systems maintenance and rectification
  • Collaborate across all teams onsite - production, engineering, maintenance, processing
  • Making a positive contribution to the SHE culture and performance of the site
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance
  • Provide clear communication between all key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Support the preventative and reactive function of our major site assets
  • Liaising with OEM’s, procurement and other head office functions
