THE OPPORTUNITY
Polestar is an exciting electric car brand rapidly growing in the automotive industry and electromobility sector. We are now seeking an Electrical Safety Manager, a crucial role that will enable us to continue our journey with in-house developed components for electric drivetrains and support interesting projects in electric production, prototype vehicle construction, and ensuring the safety of our employees.

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Electrical Safety Responsible, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) electrical routines and policies across Polestar sites in Sweden. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe execution of daily operations by conducting electrical safety inspections, documenting findings, and initiating corrective actions. This role also involves close collaboration with Polestar’s R&D teams and other specialists to uphold the highest standards of electrical safety.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Policy Development and Enforcement: Develop, implement, and enforce policies aimed at fostering a culture of electrical health and safety.
- Risk Assessment and Compliance: Evaluate work practices, procedures, and facilities to identify risks and ensure compliance with Swedish electrical regulations.
- Training Coordination: Ensure that personnel in electrical roles receive appropriate training. This includes delivering in-house training on Polestar’s electrical safety protocols and coordinating external training programs.
- Standards Monitoring and Representation: Stay informed on the latest developments in electrical standards and regulations. Represent Polestar in relevant standardization committees, including those under the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS) and the Swedish Electrotechnical Commission (SEK).
- Support for Contractors and Suppliers: Provide contractors and suppliers with the necessary information and training on Swedish electrical safety regulations and Polestar’s requirements.
- Support Development Processes: Support the department’s risk analysis and approve various work steps in the development process.
- Facility Development: Participate in the development and improvement of our facilities from an electrical safety perspective for testing.
- Test Object Support: Support the creation of test objects and develop measurement techniques, and support the design of HV batteries (DFA, DFM) with expert knowledge from an electrical safety perspective.
In short, your work will ensure that the development and production of our products are carried out safely and efficiently, and that awareness of electrical safety is present among all our employees. You will guide the organization in building test labs and setting standards for equipment procurement.
