Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
BluMetric is looking for a dynamic full time Electrical Technologist/Designer to join our multi discipline CleanTech team. The ideal candidate will be developing systems in the expanding industry of water and wastewater treatment. Working within a rapidly growing industry, you will collaborate with engineers and technical experts to create sustainable, efficient, and environmentally-friendly systems. KEY QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS:
- Licensed Electrician, or Two-year Diploma in Instrumentation Tech/Technologist; Electrical Tech/Technologist; Electronics Tech/Technologist; Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineer.
- Strong commitment to Safety, and Environmental Compliance.
- Proven organizational skills, high work standards, strong technical abilities and personal accountability.
- Ability to maintain excellent records and documentation control.
- Experience with reading and interpreting measuring tools, graphs, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in programming and maintaining PLC systems.
- Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklift and elevated work platform.
- Capable of working in varying temperature conditions and environments, including hot and cold environments.
- Strong computer skills.
- Hold a G class driver’s license in good standing.
- Available and willing to travel up to 25% as required by the role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment and subcomponents.
- Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, service, maintain and overhaul and assist with the design for all electrical/ electronic/control/protection/telecommunication or testing equipment, associated with water and wastewater treatment systems which could include onboard power generation.
- Prepare electrical, control, instrumentation, protection and telecommunication sketches, drawings, and bills of material.
- Familiarity with relevant codes/specifications to assess design compliance
- PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Participate in studies associated with energy production, load and capacity, demand management, etc., and provide project reports as required. Establish and maintain documentation / program files.
- Provide technical support, advice, coordination and assistance regarding emerging work, projects and daily routines, including the development of technical/operational solutions to problems.
